DJ Pierre, the creator of Acid House, shows once again that he is still at the very top of his game with his next release ‘What Iz House Muzik?’ Originally released on Emotive Records in 1995 under his Phuture Scope guise, this release on Pierre’s Afro Acid Digital imprint includes two brand new versions alongside the original ’95 mix.

The 2011 Mix takes ‘What Iz House Muzik?’ into peak-time techno territory, the New Wild Pitch Mix is twisted tech house for dark sweaty sessions and the re-mastered ’95 Mix shows Pierre for the true innovator he was and still is, sounding as fresh and forward thinking today 16 years after its original release.

DJ Pierre needs little introduction – born and raised in Chicago he has gone on to be responsible for some of the biggest club hits in house music’s history such as ‘Acid Trax’, ‘Generate Power’, ‘The Horn Song’ and ‘Switch 2001′. He has also remixed chart topping artists such as Pet Shop Boys.

More recently Pierre has remixed The Human League’s ‘Never Let Me Go’, had his remix of Simian Mobile Disco’s ‘Cruel Intentions’ selected as an ‘Essential New Tune’ by Pete Tong, received further Radio 1 support from Tong on ‘The Spirit’ and gained rave reviews of his remix of Detroit Grand Pubahs’ ‘Numb, Def & Dumb’. He continues to rock crowds around the world as a DJ – he’s held a residency at We Love.Space since 2008, has been a performer and panelist at ADE since 2006, spun at the Benicassim and DEMF festivals and in 2010 launched a new monthly Afro Acid event in Munster, Germany. In 2010 he also took over from Danny Rampling to host the prime-time Saturday night slot on Push FM and can also be found on greek station Rodos NRG Radio.
